SUB - COMMITTEES

FAIRS & EXHIBITION
The committee plans and organizes an international exhibition of hardware and building material products annually in December at Expo Centre Karachi. It held a successful exhibition one of its kind in Pakistan in 2003 which has now become an annual feature..

SALES TAX, BUDGET AND TAXATION
The Committee is entrusted with a very tedious assignment to bridge the gap between the members of the association and the tax collectors. It takes number of confidence building measures. The proposals formulated by this committee get incorporated in the Finance bill of Annual Budget of Pakistan.

IMPORT AND CUSTOM, KPT
This committee undertakes special inquiries and action to redress of legitimate grievances of the members of the association with the Customs and KPT. It also holds a number of meetings with the concerned Government departments that are incorporated in the of Annual Budget of Pakistan.

EXPORT
This committee convenes a number of meetings to formulate recommendations to Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) to flourish the exports of Pakistan.

BANKING, SHIPPING AND INSURANCE
This Committee is also active in formulating various proposals for the State bank of Pakistan and other banks. The committee has also drawn a number of schemes related to the laws pertaining to Shipping and Insurance of Import in order to help the members in their due process.

UTILITIES
This Committee looks after the problems of the members of association regarding the utilities. It holds regular meetings with the Government departments of PTCL, KESC, SSGC etc to resolve complains of the members of association.

TRADE DIRECTORY / PUBLICATION
The Committee has a task of issuing circulars highlighting number of government notifications and inform the members about the coming up events of importance related to Hardware industry like international and local exhibitions, seminars, workshops etc. The committee has also taken the responsibility of publishing a Hardware Trade Directory.

LAW AND ORDER / CITY GOVT.
This committee carries out meetings with different tiers of City Government and law enforcement agencies to tackle the issues of law and order, encroachments in and around hardware market, and availability of civic amenities.

FINANCE SUB – COMMITTEE
The finance sub committee being a fresh addition in the PHMA’s set up tries its best to inculcate the concept of budget, resource mobilization and audit. With the passage of time, this committee will play key roll in the resolution of financial issues of the association.
